About pickXcolor
pickXcolor is a free color picker built like a design board. Pick colors from anywhere on your screen, collect them on an infinite canvas, and get everything you need to use them — names, values, shades, contrast checks and code.
Pick from anywhere
Grab any pixel on your screen with the eyedropper, or paste HEX, RGB, HSL and OKLCH values.
Human color names
Every color is matched to the closest of about 5,000 names using the CIEDE2000 formula.
An infinite board
Arrange, group and duplicate 16:9 color cards on a canvas you can pan and zoom endlessly.
Contrast and shades
Check WCAG 2.1 contrast against white and black, and get Tailwind-style 50–900 shades.
Ready-to-paste code
Export to CSS variables, Tailwind, SCSS, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, JSON tokens, PNG or SVG.
Private by default
No account and no uploads. Your board is saved in this browser and never leaves your device.
Your data stays with you
Boards are stored in your browser's local storage. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and the clipboard is only touched when you copy or paste. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes the board.
Browser support
Picking colors from anywhere on the screen uses the EyeDropper API, available in Chrome, Edge and other Chromium-based desktop browsers. In Safari, Firefox and on mobile, the Pick colors button opens your system's color picker instead. Everything else works in all modern browsers.
